Harking back to the generic brands and the issue of the cost of the original brands being dearer.
For a while I was resenting that too, but it occurs to me that the big multi-nationals have huge resources to fall back on, so their production costs would be a lot lower, wouldn't they?
The family business which has been going for a 100 years, simply can't afford to compete.
In the end, we'll have all generic brands, no competition, and quality will no longer be an issue.
It's sad that we've allowed this to progress  so far.

People living in apartments will have to grow their food in tubs in their lounge rooms and on their balconies.

Have you ever considered that those people you are 'trying to correct' may be accurate with their facts? At times we need to step back a peg or two and listen to other people...none of us are correct  100% of the time.
