My youngest grandchild (my son't first child and only a few months old) has been in hospital overnight in the UK. Seems he had some sort of spasm, threw up everywhere and his lips went blue for a while. His blood pressure shot up and so the doctors are keeping him in overnight for observation. We're obviously all a bit worried.

There's plenty to eat, if it were all shared around.

Yes, you are correct. If there are people starving it is OUR fault. Look at the amount of food that is wasted in Australia alone with supermarkets throwing out overstocked items. And the fact that we have those stupid record making attempts of the most pies/hot-dogs/hamburgers/etc eaten in a given time. Gluttony - not done to quell their appetite and therefore just a waste. It is up to us to something for our neighbour (and that does not necessarily refer to the person next door to you - it is a university neighbour).

Why dont you pay for the collection, packaging, multilingual labeling, shipping costs etc? and all before it goes off!

You have just answered the words sang in that silly song you put up - no one cares for anyone else. Yes, there are a few who do - but the vast majority don't!
Evidenced by your pithy remark.

Sorry but I simply dont share your feeling of personal responsibility to fix all the worlds ills.
I also dont feel nor are likely to be made to feel by you or anyone else somehow lessened by dot wanting to do so, so your little chastisements are somewhat redundant.
I am not my brothers keeper that my friend is part of your religion not mine.

Why don't your remarks surprise me??

And "brothers keeper" is not just tied to (any) religion. I know of atheists who are very good supporters of humanity!!

They could have always chosen the keep their faith, they chose godlessness and then went on to do godless evil things. It wasn't Catholics, Hindus, Budhists, Mormons, Muslims, Lutherins or any other theist group who committed those evil acts, it was atheists

As an atheist, own your legacy like you demand all those theists do.

Regards,

Crimson
Why would someone who has concluded that faith is exactly that  a choice to believe in what isnt then choose to continue the pretense of belief?
You dont choose godlessness it is a state we are all in you just find comfort in the delusion of faith!
I notice again you have failed to answer a single one of my questions or challenges.
I have no legacy as I share nothing with those you mention. In fact I specifically have no shared belief with them we are totally separate unlike your legacy of faith!

Mutation

You do indeed share something with all of the most evil men i mnetioned, you're an atheist, you believe as they do. That is your legacy and the legacy of every atheist.

At the least the faithfull accept thei legacy maybe the hypocritical atheist should be forced to do likewise.

Crimson

That sounds as logical as saying all Catholics should own the 'legacy' of the hideous crimes their clergy has wrught upon small children.... when they clearly don't/won't.
Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, "I will try again tomorrow."

Absolute rubbish! I share nothing with them based on my atheism alone. I may as you also might share other things with them despite your faith simply by coincidence.
You seem to think like most of the faithful i have spoken too that atheism is some king of religion in itself and you talk  about it in those terms when it simply isnt the case. You need to understand that sharing coincidentally a disbelief is not the same as sharing a belief proposed my an organization or church .

You still havent even tried to put forth any evidence or even rationale to demonstrate that the evil acts of these people were caused or inspired by their atheism. They were also all male perhaps it was caused by their repressed homosexuality  or their diets or any other thing they had in common. You simply have no argument beyond "They were evil. They were atheists> Therefore they were evil because they were atheists"
Seriously have a think about your argument before you respond at this rate you are just wasting my time and your effort !

Atheism is as much based upon belief as theism is, atheists believe there is no God.

The atheists i pointed out persecuted the religious, they acted on their atheism to further the atheistic cause, they acted as though their "religion" was the only true and correct one. That is the "church" you belong to.

Atheists now hold conventions (masses) they actively preach their atheism, they act unified and co-ordinated, atheism is a religion unto itself.

You can use your famous "duck test" if you like.

Nothing wrong with pointing out the fact that Atheists do evil things or the fact that the most evil men of the past century were all atheists...

Mutation has nothing against tarring all of one group for the actions of the few so why should he feel any different about all atheists being tarred like-wise?

Atheists in genera are more than willing to push their atheism on the premise of religious violence and religious prejudoice so isn't it only far that they are held to the same scrutiny?

pointing out the fact that Atheists do evil things

It's not the fact that's the problem. It's the way you are using it.

Some Atheists do evil things and you are using that to stereotype and pidgeon-hole all of them

One judge is corrupt so all judges are evil.
One doctor is negligent and conducts malpractice so all doctors are terrible
One christian burnt innocent people at the stake so all christians burn things, own stakes, and torture innocent people to death.

But it's simply not so.

You can't push atheists into any kind of stereotypical state any more than mutation can push all religious people into one...

You're both as bad as each other.

Quote
Atheists in genera are more than willing to push their atheism on the premise of religious violence and religious prejudoice so isn't it only far that they are held to the same scrutiny?

Bullsnot. There are religious people who do exactly the same thing, you're one of them. That's why you can't use deterministic labels like this, because they simply aren't true.

HOWEVER, HAVING SAID ALL THAT:

I think that there have been less "evil" atheists than there have been "evil" religious people. But for different reasons than mutation.

The reason I believe that is because the sample sizes are different. There have been far more evil religious people throughout history because there have been far more religious people throughout history.

If there are 10 000 religious eggs and 100 atheist eggs you are far more likely to get a bad religious egg than a bad atheist one. It's a numbers game, has nothing to do with ideology.

Yes, there are religious fools who blow each other up in the name of their gods and for the sake of deliverance of the promised land. There are also atheists who jump off of buildings because they believe everything to be nothing more than deterministic protons, neutrons and electrons. You can't point to one without pointing to the other.

Unless you have equal sample sizes you can't ACCURATELY compare these things. And I think if you do so that the distributions will be identical.

Everything you guys are comparing is anecdotal, evidence-less and quite plainly pointless. It was quite amusing to sit back and watch both of you fume though.

I merely used Mutation's sterotyping against him, if he nor anyone else don't like being sterotyped then i suggesst they stop doing themseves.

I think you may have missed that part Crank.

Yes, evangelical atheism is as big as evangelical anything else is and people travel the world over preaching their atheist message. There is no generalisation there, that is a fact in the public domain.

I didn't sterotype anything when i pointed out common trait of the most evil men of the past century, atheism was a core belief of all of them, it formed a part of the way in which they treated others, atheism for them wasn't a simple matter of not believing in God, it was an ideal to them and an ideal that they intended to make all others accept by force if need be.

Crimson
