Windsor went along to the dept of broadband...where they seem to have filled his head with slogans and 'populist platitudes'...all detailed in a Sunday paper today...and he thinks Gillard-Labor's stupid broadband scheme costing many tens of billions of dollars is just wonderful.

So you can take it as given he'll be siding with Labor.

We can get the same result for $3 billion.....

The US is not doing Labor's stupid broadband idea...costs too much...and the world is going wireless.

Windsor backs Labor on broadband 


IN A blow to the Coalition, key independent Tony Windsor has backed Labor's $43 billion national broadband network, criticising the opposition's cheaper alternative as a ''retrograde policy'' that would create a digital backwater in rural Australia.

Mr Windsor told The Sunday Age he believed Labor's national broadband network was the better of the two policies.

Mr Windsor, who was briefed by senior officials from the Department of Broadband last week, said he had been convinced that ''you do it once, you do it right, you do it with fibre''.

KEY independent Bob Katter spent hours in the Canberra home of Kevin Rudd and Therese Rein as the battle to win his support continues.

The three Queenslanders reminisced about when the Kennedy MP was a state Opposition MP and Mr Rudd worked for Queensland Premier Wayne Goss.

"Even Therese has been there. But I have been quite genuinely surprised at the intensity of [Mr Rudd]," Mr Katter said.

With Port Macquarie MP Rob Oakeshott said to be leaning to the ALP, Julia Gillard must secure one more independent to form government.

During a phone hook-up yesterday at 3.30pm, all three independents agreed to do whatever it took to avoid triggering another election.

No agreement was reached on who they would support, but with Mr Oakeshott leaning towards Labor, at least one of the other two would need to lock in behind him to avoid a possible 75-all deadlock and a new poll.

People perhaps you should all look on the bright side of this situation! For the last 2 weeks at least no government has been able to screw anything up in the National Arena!Sure they havent fixed anything but they were never likely to anyway.
No action  = No Harm and frankly given the 2 party system  I could live with a caretaker crippled and undecided govt for quiet a while!

The same package of reforms the Independents are now spruiking and lauding as their own work.

See them mention Tony Abbott anywhere regarding the reforms?

Abbott and the Liberals-Nationals are being held to a much higher standard of costings proof by the media [mostly a Labor cheersquad] than Labor-Greens are.
